Can you identify this Atlanta area bird if I describe the call?
Every morning I am woken by TWEET TWEET TWEET TWEET. The pitch is the same and the pattern is usually 4 tweets. Sometimes when I'm wondering if the bird is counting, he'll surprise me by going TWEET TWEET TWEET or even TWEET TWEET TWEET-TWEET TWEET. But mostly it's like listening to a drumbeat it's so regular, those four tweets over and over again. It really does sound like he's saying TWEET. I have a woody area very near me but when I look out the window when he's tweeting I don't see any birds.
