what sort of workout should i be doing in the gym to help my gof swing?
do lots of core work. Strengthen the chest, obliques, back, lats, abs and hip flexors. Use the medicine ball a lot and work on flexibility. That should help your golf swing. Also work on the wrists and forearms.
Arm strength doesn't mean anything. I out drive plenty of the guys i play with and their upper body is a lot stronger than mine. My core and big muscles are more fit and flexible so i have better timing as well as strength.
Golf is a finesse game, not a power game. How would these guys above me explain the tiny girls on the LPGA hitting it 280 - 300 yards. I would doubt that any of them could bench over 150lbs if even that.
