are you able to make an incubator out of a cardboard box and a lamp overhead?
will the egg hatch that way?? i just have a cardboard box and this overhead lamp, with 60 watts. what else do i need besides the thermometer to check the temperature?
how do i know what humidity to use and how to control the temperature?
You can do it, but you need to be dedicated. Eggs need to be rotated every hour. We've raised chicken eggs this way, but it's a pain, really. You have to do it all through the night and keep the humidity at a certain point as well as the temp. They do sell incubators that turn the eggs automatically. Some are rather inexpensive.
