What type of rope is this?

and what is it made or? is it all natural or is it dyed with something? i am looking to use it as part of a bird toy so this is why i need to know!

It is commonly referred to as "hay baling twine" as it was commonly used to wrap bales of hay when tractors pulled hay balers - baling hay in the fields.
The twine (or rope) comes from Sisal which is a plant "Agave sisalana" which (believe it or not) is a close relative of the blue agave from which Tequila is made).
The Sisal twine is also referred to as hemp rope. You can buy it at home depot, and they also use it for customers to tie down loads in their trucks.
