When they kill cows do they use all the parts of that cow to make leather, and food?
just wondering if every part of the animal is being utilized or do people that kill the cow only do it for one thing like making steaks
Yes. Most parts of the cattle are used. Slaughter houses are a business. So, they are going to make as much money as possible selling as much of the carcass as they can. I'm not an expert on meat processing, but I do know that animal bones are used to make charcoal. The charcoal is used in the filtering process of cane sugar.
Cows aren't generally used for food. Steers are used for most of the beef production in the US. Steers are young, male, castrated bovine. I think that old cattle (like dairy cows that are too old for milk production) are taken to rendering plants. This plants turn cattle into pet food, gelatin, protein powder and so forth. And, of course, the hides are used for leather.
