Where the toys from toy story made before or after the movie was made?
i was wondering like did people know about buzz lightyear way before the movie came out? did they make mr potato heads just because of the movie?
The key characters (e.g. Woody, Buzz Lightyear) were obviously made after the movie's release. But most of the other toys seen in the movies were made decades ago. Mr. Potato Head, for instance, was manufactured by George Lerner in the late 1940s, and the Slinky was invented by Richard James in the early 1940s and reached department stores by 1945.
